About

Hi! I currently do research at Stanford on building AI systems that can solve tough bio and healthcare problems - a lot of my current focus is on open-endedness, continual learning and representation learning. I got my start in theoretical math research and was heavily involved in robotics research at Stanford. I left school for 3 years to co-found and build Medeloop, a platform for speeding up clinical research at academic hospitals. After a crazy journey of deploying across North America, leading a great team and raising $27M, I made the decision to step back from day to day operations to focus on how we can develop drugs that don't have terrible clinical trial failure rates. Send me a line if you are interested in this type of stuff!

Experience

  • Founder & Chief Technology Officer at Medeloop
    Aug 2021 - Mar 2025 · 3 yrs 8 mos

    ▪ Agent that takes in complex research questions from doctors, hammers against a hospital's health record (oftentimes quite messy and complicated!), and produces full paper-like reports ▪ Raised Series A in November '24 ($27M total raised). Investors include Ken Frazier (Former CEO/Chairman of Merck), Linda Grais (Board Member of ICON), Amir Rubin (Founder / CEO of One Medical) as well as General Catalyst (Elena Viboch), Icon Ventures (Tom Mawhinney), Inovia Capital (Magaly Charbonneau), Maven Ventures (Sara Deshpande) and OVO Fund (Eric Chen) ▪ Deployed across several North American academic health systems, make money primarily brokering for RWE and clinical trial recruiting for pharma. Led product, research & engineering with roughly 15-20 reports

  • Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (SAIL) (2 yrs 1 mo)
    • Stanford Machine Learning Group
      Mar 2021 - Mar 2023 · 2 yrs 1 mo

      ▪ Developed models with minimal labeled data for detecting and segmenting components of the oil and gas supply chain from satellite imagery. Advised by Jeremy Irvin and Hao Sheng in Andrew Ng's lab

    • Autonomous Systems Laboratory
      Mar 2021 - Jun 2021 · 4 mos

      ▪ Bayesian meta-learning with Apoorva Sharma and James Harrison in Marco Pavone's lab

  • Kundaje Lab at Stanford University School of Medicine
