As a Civil Designer at Arup, I contribute to the delivery of complex transport and site development projects across road, earthworks, utilities, and stormwater infrastructure. Working within multidisciplinary teams, I apply advanced 3D design skills to develop high‑quality, technically robust solutions that align with Australian standards, safety requirements, and Arup’s commitment to shaping a better world. Key Responsabilities: • Support civil engineers in the design and documentation of transport infrastructure and site development works, including roads, earthworks, utilities, and stormwater systems. • Develop, manage, and coordinate detailed 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation using Autodesk Civil 3D and associated design tools. • Produce compliant, constructible design solutions in accordance with Austroads, TMR, and Australian Standards, while considering safety, sustainability, and whole‑of‑life outcomes. • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design interfaces, undertake model reviews, and support clash detection and coordination. • Mentor and review the work of junior designers and engineers, providing technical guidance and supporting professional development. • Contribute to quality assurance processes, programme delivery, and budget control, while driving continuous improvement across Arup systems and skills networks.
Duties & Responsibilities: • Participate in the delivery of projects and ensure work is of a high technical standard. • Assist in achieving effective implementation of administrative procedures and systems. • Cooperate and comply with quality management procedures and guidelines. • Complete Moderate to complex designs, and prepare associated documentation in accordance with quality management standards and procedures. • Operate Civil3D/12d/AutoCAD and other drafting and design software packages efficiently. • Provide project inputs within allocated timeframes and budgeted hours. • Shares expertise and knowledge within and across the technical discipline. • Utilise theoretical and practical knowledge, originality and ingenuity to devise practical and economical design solutions in collaboration with the certifying engineer. • Develop moderate to complex plans, quantity schedules and estimates. • Recommend improvements to work methods and quality management system procedures. • Assist in the coordination and incorporation of other internal disciplines and sub-consultants design inputs. • Provide technical advice to and co-ordinate inputs of drafting staff.
