My research interests lie in the development and simulation of advanced aerospace systems and composite detector technologies for high-energy physics applications. I have contributed to the design and manufacturing of composite detector components for the CMS and ATLAS experiments at CERN, as well as for the ePIC detector at Brookhaven National Laboratory, as part of my research at the Composites Manufacturing & Simulation Center. I specialize in the structural and thermal integration of CFRP-based support staves with embedded cooling systems, employing CAD modeling, FEA, and advanced metrology techniques. Previously, I collaborated on large-scale layups. Passionate about aerospace systems engineering, I combine hands-on manufacturing expertise with computational skills in MATLAB, Python, SolidWorks and Simulink to solve complex engineering problems. I’m currently finishing my B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
As an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Purdue's SURF program at the Composite Manufacturing & Simulation Center (CMSC), I designed and manufactured carbon fiber composite (CFRP) systems for high-energy physics detectors at CERN (CMS, ATLAS) and Brookhaven’s EIC/ePIC project. My core focus was developing lightweight support structures with embedded CO₂ cooling for silicone detectors, ensuring thermal stability during particle tracking. I also executed big-scale CFRP layups for CERN’s ITST detector, performed precision metrology using CMM/laser scanning, validated designs via FEA (ANSYS), and created CAD models/drawings (SolidWorks, Solid Edge) for international collaborations.
Composite Manufacturing & Simulation Center (CMSC), Purdue University Part-time | Jan 2025-May 2025 (Concurrent with full course load) Supported the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) project at Brookhaven National Lab through precision design and testing of carbon composite detector systems for particle physics experiments. Developed CAD models (SolidWorks/Fusion 360) for AC-LGAD silicone detector support staves, executed mechanical validation tests, and contributed to thermal analysis of integrated CO₂ cooling systems – advancing detector performance while maintaining a full course load in Aerospace Engineering at Purdue University.
