Hi! I’m Raechel, a recent graduate from the University at Albany with a B.A. in English and History, currently pursuing an M.S. In Secondary Education. I am passionate about the intersection of learning - both formal and informal - and the real world, and I thrive in environments that value academic rigor and creative, student-centered growth. Since 2016, I have worked as a Tutor at New City Kumon, an intern at my high school's store, and a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital, as well as my church. Lately, however, I have been spending my summers babysitting and working as a Group Leader/Counselor at Camp Ramaquois, a place that I am privileged to be able to call my home away from home. During this past camp season, I am pleased to say that I participated in a Leadership Building Internship in which I completed a self-directed project while maintaining my other responsibilities. During the school year, I work as a Cashier at an up-and-coming quick-service restaurant, Tacos Diablo, where I also enjoy helping out with a bit of social media work whenever the opportunity arises! These experiences have allowed me to acquire several professional and leadership skills relating to customer service, problem-solving, and workplace efficiency. In high school, I was enrolled in various Honors Classes and was also a part of the Principal's Advisory Committee, the President of our DECA chapter, and the Publicity Officer of our Red Cross Club. I have also participated in Mock Trial and the Assets Leadership Club in the past. Now, I attend UAlbany as an English and History Double-Major, with hopes of becoming a teacher upon graduation, and have additionally been involved with the Phi Alpha Delta organization.
