Auckland Council is one of the most diverse organisations in New Zealand, contributing to large-scale projects that are shaping Auckland. In my role I led 5 diverse teams and two specialist SMEs across People and Performance. These included talent acquisition, redeployment and career transition, talent acquisition administration (including workforce transactions, pre-employment checks, contract generation and support administration), graduate and intern programmes, employer brand and systems, reporting and our ATS. My role led the strategy in this space as well as providing overall leadership to up to 40 direct and indirect reports. With significant deliverables, I was accountable for people management and performance, service delivery, budget management and reporting as well as supplier management (including both AoG Recruitment Service panel suppliers and other supplier agreements). I am proud to have been part of the leadership team who set up #Melbrecmeetup in early 2016 in order to create and leverage a stronger, more collaborative talent community across Melbourne. Upon my return to New Zealand I joined the #AucklandRec organising committee, taking the lead role during this time. These networking groups bring together HR professionals to focus on talent - allowing people to have a safe space to contribute and evolve their own practices and ways of working. These meetups feature a range of topics including trends in the industry, new tools to try and insights that enable all participants to share knowledge to keep getting better at what they do.

  • Resource Development Manager (Parental Leave Cover - Contract) at ANZ
    Apr 2017 - Feb 2018 · 11 mos

In one way or another, ANZ New Zealand touches the lives of almost every New Zealander. Through some of New Zealand's best known financial brands, including ANZ, OnePath, ANZ Investments, UDC Finance, Bonus Bonds and ANZ Securities, ANZ enjoys remarkable scale, diversity, resources and influence. I led a team of resource development consultants who supported the New Zealand sales and service centres in Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand. Focused on recruitment and succession strategies for both centres, my role was to ensure the performance of the centres was supported by ensuring the right talent was in the right place, at the right time. A priority for this role was managing multiple internal stakeholders to deliver in tight time frames and budgets and as the only onsite HR leader, I was the key point for payroll and collective agreement queries. While in role I launched multiple new talent tools and training, introduced career coaching and interview support to our frontline staff and completely diversified the way ANZ contact centres sourced and selected talent, winning the National Accessibility Award for ANZ in 2017.
