Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. In 2001, after 7 years as a school teacher, whilst pregnant with my first child, I founded Educating Matters. I believed that I could have a bigger impact on the lives of children by working directly with parents, sharing strategies on educating, raising children to thrive and nurturing work-life harmony. An investment banker heard me speak in a local home and invited me into his office to address his colleagues. That was way before Family Networks, Wellbeing leads, or DE&I appeared in anyone's job title. 25+ years later, many of those original corporates are still clients. I have supported tens of thousands of working parents across global organisations including: Accenture, HSBC, EY, Sainsburys, Microsoft, Centrica, Barclays & PageGroup. As a mother of 4 (3 now adults), I’m a firm believer that "good enough" parenting beats the pursuit of perfection every time. What started with parenting and work-life integration, has evolved in response to the needs of our clients. Today, Educating Matters is a team of teachers, psychologists, therapists, doctors, coaches, neuroscientists and DEI experts delivering sessions on: neurodiversity, mental health, female health, allyship, caring responsibilities, social mobility, disability, LGBTQ+ inclusion, intergenerations and more. We respond to what is happening in the world: whether that was helping parents navigate homeschooling during Covid, facilitating conversations about race after George Floyd, families navigating war, or responding to the Netflix series Adolescence. Every session is rooted in lived experience, delivered with warmth, and built around practical, realistic strategies -creating a space for employees to feel supported, heard, and understood. We facilitate webinars, workshops, 1:1 coaching, video series, panels, and bespoke consulting, whatever format fits the need. We work globally with HR, DEI, L&D, Wellbeing leads, and Employee Networks across banking, tech, law, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, government, retail, construction etc. 💼FOR ORGANISATIONS: If you are responsible for employee networks, engagement, inclusion, or wellbeing and want to explore how we could support your people, send me a DM or contact us at 👉🏻www.educatingmatters.co.uk 🏡FOR INDIVIDUAL PARENTS: I offer 1:1 parenting consultations and an online course, "Raising a Child to Thrive" FREE MASTERCLASS with summary of my favourite parenting strategies 👉🏻https://www.educatingmatters.co.uk/parenting-matters/
