While at DNV, I supported the Maritime and Oil and Gas business areas leading media relations and public affairs for all of North and South America. Working with cross-functional teams, I developed strategic plans for messaging and elevating the profile of the organization. This included working with key media, coordinating and organizing press events, briefings, and interviews, as well as managing the content for press releases, articles, social media, events, crisis communications, and internal communications. Working closely with DNV's global network, we delivered creative ways to spotlight and elevate the profile of our team's innovation, thought leadership, and 150 years of experience.
EP Energy (EPE), originally part of El Paso Corporation, is an unconventional exploration and production company with oil and gas assets stretching across North America. While with EPE, I lead the development of our communications, community outreach, and corporate giving programs. Our work helped build trust within the communities where we worked and lived and paved the way for our operations team to work with local government and landowners. Within my communications role at EPE, I managed all content, oversaw branding, and directed corporate giving and community outreach. This included supporting Investor Relations with quarterly earnings calls, presentations, road-show events, and the company’s IPO on the NYSE. Key projects included: executive (and organizational) communication strategy, stakeholder events and meetings, strategic planning; project management; internal and external communications; and developing articles that tell the success stories of our programs.
Formerly O'Brien's Response Management. Although O'Brien's was not a "household name," our work set the standard and established a preparedness and response management baseline. Our clients, network, and projects stretch to every corner of the globe. As the primary responder supporting corporations, government, and communities, O’Brien’s broadened my vision and instilled in me the vital skills needed to lead crisis communications. As an extension of our business teams, I lead O’Brien’s communications and developed materials to support our CEO and members of the Executive Team when working with national leaders, the military, media, and corporate partners. Leading communications, we planned, supported, and executed over 20 conferences around the globe each year, in addition, to live virtual events featuring clients.
