Communicated complex environmental issues through research, writing, and digital tools to support Ecodrive’s mission of advancing sustainability. Through scientific research, I wrote on sustainability topics including carbon credits, microplastics, and coral bleaching, translating complex issues into accessible content on the Ecodrive website. Produced community newsletters to highlight initiatives and engage readers around actionable steps in sustainability. Gained proficiency in HubSpot for content organization, engagement tracking, and digital publishing workflows. Adapted to the pace of a fast-moving startup, contributing energy and enthusiasm while applying a scientific lens to communication and strategy.
Gained expertise in delivering sustainable solutions that achieve net zero goals. This role focused on consulting with environmental consultancy Tellus Civic Science to create a Plastic Feasibility Policy for the Fiji Islands. Working with an international team, we brainstormed and researched scientific solutions to decrease plastic waste and create a circular economy that benefits the community and environment of the Fiji Islands.
I learned the art of mixology and furthered my wine/cocktail knowledge. I worked with a diverse team to create quality guest experiences in a fine-dining atmosphere founded on enthusiasm and kindness.
During my college education, I learned how to organize events in a dynamic team environment for students living on campus. This journey took place in the season after covid, so I learned how to navigate communication regarding masks/disease and situations within a global pandemic while living and attending to fellow students.
This was my first job and gave me hands on experience working in agriculture and tending to the environment. Throughout my years working at the nursery, I navigated running machinery such as tractors, lawn-mowers, weed-wackers, sprayers, and what to do when they malfunctioned. I learned how to transplant young plants, fertilize, water, and prune them as they grew. Each one required gentle care and the right climate to thrive, just like people do. From seed to tree/bush and then to the hands of a customer, I tended to these plants while growing a deep appreciation for the environment and passion for the outdoors.
