  • Botany Specialist at Raintree Tropical Nursery
    Jun 2014 - Aug 2020 · 6 yrs 3 mos

This was my first job and gave me hands on experience working in agriculture and tending to the environment. Throughout my years working at the nursery, I navigated running machinery such as tractors, lawn-mowers, weed-wackers, sprayers, and what to do when they malfunctioned. I learned how to transplant young plants, fertilize, water, and prune them as they grew. Each one required gentle care and the right climate to thrive, just like people do. From seed to tree/bush and then to the hands of a customer, I tended to these plants while growing a deep appreciation for the environment and passion for the outdoors.
