I bring together more than 20 years of information technology and privacy experience, along with specialized training in investigative genetic genealogy. My work focuses on the intersection of privacy, security, ethics, data governance, and the responsible use of data in the unique field of investigative genetic genealogy.
I serve as the Privacy and Security IT Director for IGGAB, an investigative genetic genealogy accreditation organization. My focus areas include privacy governance, regulatory compliance, responsible data use, policy development, process improvement, sensitive information handling, privacy risk assessment, internal controls, and data related incident response. I am also responsible for managing data access controls across multiple platforms, including systems that support highly sensitive accreditation exam materials. In addition, I provide recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding strategic direction from a privacy and security standpoint.
I serve on the IT Privacy and Security team and provide data privacy consulting services focused on privacy governance, regulatory compliance, responsible data use, policy development, process improvement, and sensitive information handling for an organization that provides investigative genetic genealogy services to support the identification of unidentified human remains.
I currently specialize in assisting investigative genetic genealogy nonprofit organizations, where privacy, security, ethics, and responsible data use are especially important. My focus areas include privacy governance, regulatory compliance, responsible data use, policy development, process improvement, sensitive information handling, privacy risk assessment, internal controls, and data related incident response.
During my career transition I received formal training in investigative genetic genealogy and have focused on understanding how this field intersects with privacy compliance, responsible data use, and sensitive information handling.
