Human rights policy expert and government regulator collaborating with mental health providers to ensure compliance for state and federal laws. Also serving as the administrator for the local human rights committee representing the state of Virginia, covering Fairfax and Arlington county within the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C. Leveraging from a foundation of a clinical mental health provider, and risk manager, I now take this experience to conduct organizational reviews with international experience. Furthermore, as a PhD student conducting cross-cultural research involving organizational analysis and further systems thinking through the lens of a psychological standpoint, I simultaneously remain in a position to advocate for human rights and sustainable policies. This field experience and background allows me to bridge gaps in government policies while educating, advancing and supporting health care providers to provide the best ethical practices that are dedicated bringing forth diverse perspectives and evidence-based approaches that also empower teams and improve system processes. These practices aid and protect vulnerable populations who receive public health services spanning across the Washington D.C., Maryland, and the Virginia area.
Managing for both Eastern State Hospital and Central Kentucky Recovery Center, that promotes independent living. Certified investigator for risk assessment, cases involving patient safety. Simultaneously, handling patient satisfaction as a Grievance Coordinator, contraband and supervising for entirety of ESH within the guidelines of JCAHO & HIPAA Creating and auditing reports for the state of Kentucky to send directly to the Office of Inspector General, the Kentucky Capital; Frankfort, Adult Protective Services, and Department of Community Based Services.
Eastern State Hospital (the first American Nursing Credentialing Center Magnet Recognition Program in a mental health organization), a psychiatric hospital managed by the University of Kentucky and the state of Kentucky, housing the most severe cases for all surrounding states for 72 hour court order holds. Positioned on all female unit for human trafficking, domestic and sexual abuse cases. Working along psychiatrist, social workers, and nurses by helping coordinate case management and 1:1 clinical care. Later volunteering to work on COVID-19 unit since beginning of pandemic to avoid vulnerable staff exposure including elderly, pregnant, or co-morbidity factors.
