Responsible for Chemicals, Consumables (including standard tooling, PPE, workwear, office furniture, stationery and so much more), Calibration and Tooling across all Safran UK sites
• Leading Procurement and operational activity across Aviation UK encompassing 3 businesses – Babcock Aerospace Limited (military requirements across 20+ RAF bases), Onshore (21 Air Ambulance bases plus 2 police helicopters) and Design & Completion Ltd (design of parts plus modification of aircraft). Activity includes procurement of spares, repairs, facilities management, insurance, IT services, training, buildings, aircraft leases, PPE, clothing, and ad hoc such as firearms licencing, events management, coach services, water coolers across multi sites etc. Tactical and strategic activity. RFQs to full PQQ/ITT tendering. Values varied from small up to several £m per tender. • Supplier Management – ranging from parts & equipment suppliers to constructors. • Key Stakeholder Management • Ensure the function delivers on its strategic priorities and meets the fast changing business needs. • Lead the buying and logistics teams across the UK to ensure adherence to regulatory and operational requirements and guarantee operational supply chain performance and risk mitigation to support the business requirements. • Cost Reduction. • Implementing and embedding purchasing tools, processes and systems across the UK with a standardised approach. • People Management. Coaching and developing (direct/matrix reports) • Team Working. Demonstrate a motivated and results-focused approach and promote a culture of trust, teamwork, continuous improvement and customer focus.
