Made significant contributions to restructure and scale our IT department from 50 FTE to an agile matrix organization with 100 FTE. Currently leading 50 software engineers across 10 teams, including team leads and software architects. Established various engineering communities, best practices such as DevOps, platform engineering including the setup of an Internal Developer Platform, CI/CD, observability, incident management, test automation and the use of DORA metrics. Responsible for the development of a B2B customer application in the “Sponsored Products” area. Hired and led an engineering team, as well as taking responsibility for the product management. Designed the software architecture as part of Zalando's huge system landscape and conducted code reviews to ensure quality. Cross-company stakeholder management to ensure project goals are met.
Senior Executive and member of the management team. I was responsible for transitioning from a pure IT-offshoring strategy to a modern product organization. During this time I hired around 15 engineers in Hamburg (including an architect and SRE engineer) and helped to build up agile processes for all product development teams. With my teams we successfully replaced a monolithic legacy application with a modern, cloud-native service landscape including serverless and event-driven architecture patterns, CI/CD, IaC, centralized monitoring and code quality management. Led four engineering teams, consisting of frontend, backend, and SRE engineers.
Led and developed a distributed software engineering team. Responsible for project and lifecycle management of multiple B2B software products for automotive spare parts. Managed external IT service providers (Germany and Spain) as part of several team and project extensions.
