Dr. Quamrul Alam is a Professor of International Business and Strategy at Central Queensland University (Melbourne campus). Before joining Central Queensland University, Professor Alam worked at Monash University for 16 years, La Trobe University for 7 years, and Victoria University of Australia for 3 years. Professor Alam was an Associate Professor at the Department of Public Administration at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He joined the University of Dhaka in 1980. Professor Quamrul Alam has a strong research and teaching background. He has published over 70 journal articles, 6 books, 30 book chapters and presented over 100 conference papers in the UK, USA, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Romania, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, China, New Zealand, Spain, Italy and Australia. Professor Alam supervised over 20 PhD researchers from Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. He organised many training programs for Bangladesh public servants in Australia. More than 300 public servants from Bangladesh attended various training programs that he conducted in Australia. Professor Alam organised four international conferences on Bangladesh economy and governance in Australia and Bangladesh and hosted seminars on public policy, public governance, public-private partnership, and administrative leadership. Recently, Prof. Alam received a large research grant from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia on energy and power sector connectivity and Australia-Bangladesh collaboration.
