Synthesis of biodegradable stereocomplexes of PLA-PEG-PLA amphiphilic triblock copolymers as drag-reducing agents -Synthesized copolymers with various repeating units of L- and D- lactide with PEG as a linker using Schlenk and glovebox techniques. The copolymers were characterized using 1H NMR, DOSY, GPC, and DLS. -Performed rheological studies to evaluate the viscosity of the copolymers and their stereocomplexes at various shear rates. Synthesis of redox switchable ferrocene-supported complexes for controlled polymerization of cyclic ethers and esters -Designed synthetic pathways and synthesized a variety of amino- and thio- substituted ferrocene proligands under inert conditions at high yields and purity. The compounds and their intermediates were purified by column chromatography, crystallization, and distillation. -Metalated ferrocene proligands with Al, Ga, In, and Y to develop redox active catalysts, enabling controlled polymerization of cyclic ethers and esters to synthesize multiblock copolymers.
