I am the Group Chief Privacy Officer at Discovery Limited, providing governance leadership and oversight for enterprise privacy and AI governance. My focus is to strengthen trusted, compliant and responsible use of personal information and AI. My work is governance-led: translating business and regulatory requirements into practical policies, standards and control expectations; supporting clear accountability and decision rights; enabling consistent risk assessment and reporting; and advising senior stakeholders on complex regulatory obligations. I champion privacy-by-design and help embed governance into product, data and third‑party decisions. I provide governance oversight to support alignment with key requirements including GDPR, POPIA and PAIA, and with recognised standards such as ISO/IEC 27701. In parallel, I am expanding AI governance (including generative AI where applicable) by embedding responsible AI principles into enterprise controls—covering transparency and documentation, appropriate human oversight, data/model risk considerations and third‑party AI risk. I’m a council member of InfoGovANZ and a board member of the Certified Information Governance Officers Association (CIGOA), contributing to the development of global information governance practice.
