Working with climate policies and carbon markets to make an impact on the pressing problems of the world.
• Providing advice and insights on policies and regulations by governments and at the UNFCCC, as well as climate and carbon credit developments (e.g. standard and methodology changes by Verra, Gold Standard and other carbon standards, guidance from ICVCM, VCMI, SBTi and other meta-standards). • Developing thought leadership pieces to advocate for GenZero’s positions and shape carbon markets. • Engage with governments to provide industry perspectives and policy developments. • Participant in ICVCM Expert Panel, VCMI Stakeholder Forum, and workgroup on ISO 14060 on Net Zero Aligned Organisations.
• Launching and forging international agreements for carbon credits trading across countries in Asia, South America and Africa, and negotiating at UNFCCC on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. • Developing Singapore’s ecosystem and regulations for carbon credits, including domestic policies for compliance carbon credit use. • Reviewing and developing Singapore’s Carbon Tax policies. • Leading analysis and development of policy approaches to international climate issues such as the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and International Carbon Price Floor. • Developing and coordinating Singapore’s climate change and energy policies, balancing climate, economic and strategic considerations including phasing out coal, facilitating the processes to implement mitigation measures such as resource efficiency grants, and promising technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture, utilisation and storage. • Coordinating and formulating Singapore’s positions and policies on international climate change issues such as on phasing out coal, and on trade and climate issues. • Developing international standard on Carbon Neutrality as a member of the ISO 14068 Workgroup.
• Reviewed school garden activities across Myanmar and recommended strategies to scale up and utilise school gardens. • Reviewed monitoring and evaluating framework, methodology and utilisation for school feeding activities.
• Designed monitoring and analysis framework for tracking special needs students participating in arts therapy programmes.
• Aided in developing concept notes and business development material to for NUS Scale Summer Programmes. • Liaised with embassies, foreign and local companies and foreign universities in Middle East and Central Asia.
