Implemented and supported the global IT strategy, infrastructure, application operations and program management activities for this global Clinical Research Organization. Highest priorities were focused on reducing cost while at the same time improving services with the goal to differentiate ICON from its competitors. Goals were achieved by refining and developing a balanced workforce throughout Europe and North America while also making additional investment in staff in the Philippines and India. This balance of skilled staff and their locations enabled ICON to deliver an improved 24hour ITIL support capability at a better cost rate, while also having the right skill sets and availability for local service delivery to our customers. Introduced new infrastructure technologies and services and leveraged cloud and managed services. Replaced legacy telephony and moved to UCC, eliminated traditional DR and moved to Service Redirection. Leveraged cloud and managed services to help ICON retire legacy solutions and build to our vision of a Future State Architecture.

Led the core IT infrastructure and operations services: global servers, storage, data base services, data center services, system engineering, desktop engineering, application performance evaluation, and infrastructure application support for Quintiles offices located across 54 different countries. Activities and accomplishments: •2008 Innovation recognition from a global panel of independent judges. Recognized for the use of NetApp storage solutions in the Enterprise Business Applications category. •2006 Quintiles President award for major acquisition and divestiture activities •Built a new global support organization from the ground up, hiring and training staff to replace outsourced vendor’s team. •Built two new global datacenters, and then consolidated and closed 10 regional data centers. •Built a follow the sun support model and ITIL practices that significantly improved the timeliness and quality of service. •Transitioned from departmental bespoke solutions to a shared global infrastructure model. •Introduced server virtualization and network storage solutions as our standard service offering, reducing run rate cost by 70% and changed service fulfillment time from eight weeks to two days. •Implemented an Application Performance Evaluation service that delivered significant performance improvements for critical business applications.
