I am a professionally trained proofreader and copy editor, and also a concerts manager and arts administrator with 30 years' experience working in the professional arts sector in Northern Ireland. My expertise is in classical music (all periods), electroacoustic music, opera and arts management; my wider proofreading and editing interests include the arts, humanities and social sciences, history and natural history, biography, management and arts policy. I am a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading. Before starting my proofreading business, I worked with the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Arts Council Ireland, Queen's University Belfast, the Ulster Orchestra and Belfast Music Society.

The ICMC is the pre-eminent gathering of international experts in the field and had only been to the UK on one previous occasion; this was its first visit to Ireland.
