Building strong relationships with donors, governments, local partners, consortium members and other stakeholders; Winning a large number of humanitarian and development grants; Management of 5-10 permanent national staff, temporary staff and national/international consultants; Supporting the Vietnam Red Cross and the Lao Red Cross in project design and management and guiding the process of disengagement with the Lao Red Cross in 2010 and with the Vietnam Red Cross in 2014. Ultimately responsible for the correct implementation of projects with a joint annual budget of approx. EUR 1.000.000, this includes the following larger projects: - Enhancing capacities of the Vietnam Red Cross, government actors and communes to ensure improved Disaster Management in Vietnam (especially the Governments CBDRM Program). In consortium with the Spanish Red Cross (Donor: DIPECHO VIII) - Community Based Disaster Risk Management and Strengthening Economic Resilience in Quang Binh and Quang Tri (Donor: Rabobank Foundation) - Support the recovery of households affected by 2010 floods in Vietnam. In consortium with German and French Red Cross (Donor: DG ECHO) - Strengthening the VCA capacity to enhance community resilience in the light of natural hazards in Vietnam (Donor: DIPECHO VII) - Enhancing Hazard Vulnerability Capacity Assessment in Vietnam (Donor: DIPECHO VI) - Support the recovery of people affected by typhoon Ketsana in Vietnam. In consortium with the German Red Cross (Donor: DG ECHO) - Community Based Disaster Preparedness in Quang Binh and Ha Ting (Donor: European Commission / EuropeAid) - Community Development / WatSan in Ha Giang, Cao Banh, Bac Kan, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan. Technical design of 4 successful grant applications for Community Based Disaster Risk Management project in Vietnam (3 USAID/OFDA grants and 1 USAID Vietnam Forest and Deltas Program). Technical advice on CBDRM programming, improving tools and processes, developing procedures and guidelines for the community.
Supporting the German Red Cross in starting up a DRR program in 6 communes in Hue. Responsibilities include technical DRR advice on VCA, DRR trainings, Mitigation Plans and training staff on DRR. Furthermore technical input in the formulation of successful concept notes and full proposals.
