Dr. Alka Singh is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Delhi Technological University and has more than 26 years of teaching and research experience. She is a Senior Member, IEEE. She graduated in electrical engineering from the Delhi Technological University (formerly, Delhi College of Engineering), India, in 1996. She topped her batch to earn her masters (M.Tech. ) degree in power systems from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, in 2001. She pursued her research interest and earned the Ph.D. in power systems from the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, New Delhi, in 2006. Her research interests include power systems and power quality. She has contributed to make electrical engineering popular amongst young girls. She has made huge contribution to science and engineering at grassroot level and received many awards for her research and teaching work. She is highly respected and revered faculty of engineering at graduate and doctoral level too. Prof. Singh is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education. She has published over 100 research publications in top Journals and conferences. She completed a Fast Track Young Scientist Project awarded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India titled " Modeling and Development of Power Electronics based Controller for interfacing renewable energy sources to utility grid" (2012-2016)
