Prof. Philipp Schuetz is a board-certified internist and endocrinologist with over 15 years of clinical and research experience in endocrinology, infectious diseases, critical illness, and general medicine. He is the Head of the Medical University Clinic and Chief Physician of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology/Diabetes, and as Chief Research Officer (CRO) also member of the executive board at Kantonsspital Aarau, one of the largest and most modern hospitals in Switzerland. His mission is to apply the latest developments in medical research and education to improve patient outcomes and quality of care. He has conducted and managed several large nation-wide trials on nutrition, hormones, and biomarkers, and published his original work in prestigious journals such as The Lancet, JAMA, and Annals of Internal Medicine. He also holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard University, where he did clinical research at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is a professor at the University of Basel, supported by the Swiss National Foundation and President of the Swiss Society for Clinical Nutrition (GESKES) and the Federal Nutrition Commission (EEK).
Die GESKES ist seit 1985 die Schweizerische Ernährungsgesellschaft für alle klinischen Belange der Ernährung. Hauptziele sind die Förderung von Kompetenzen in klinischer Ernährung sowie deren wissenschaftliche, theoretische und praktische Umsetzung.
