I’m a surgical oncologist and translational researcher with 20+ years of experience in gastrointestinal oncology, clinical leadership, and interdisciplinary innovation. As deputy director of the department of surgery at a major german university hospital, head of the pancreas-kidney-transplant unit, and head of multiple oncology units, I’ve led interdisciplinary teams, implemented robotic surgical programs, and overseen clinical trial portfolios across hepato-pancreato-biliary and oesophageal cancer. I’m also Co-Founder of Preliqx, an early-stage biotech startup focused on liquid biopsy diagnostics for early cancer and kidney disease detection — where I lead clinical strategy and translational development. With over 120 peer-reviewed publications, >€6.5M in research funding, and experience in both European and U.S. systems (including a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard/MGH), I bring a deep understanding of how science and systems intersect. I’m currently expanding my professional network and sharing insights from ongoing projects in surgical innovation, tumor immunology, and healthcare operations.
Co-founded an early-stage biotech startup focused on developing non-invasive diagnostic tools for early-stage cancer and kidney disease detection using liquid biopsy technology. Leading medical strategy, clinical validation pathways, and integration of academic insights into real-world diagnostic application. Collaborating with research institutions, biotech advisors, and innovation partners to accelerate development of biomarker-based early detection platforms.
