Conducted advanced research on the seismic performance of precast slab-to-wall connections as part of the MITACS Globalink Research Internship. • Developed finite element models in ABAQUS CAE to simulate cyclic lateral loading on slab-wall joints, incorporating nonlinear contact behavior, crack propagation, and reinforcement detailing. • Performed parametric studies to assess the influence of embedment depth, boundary conditions, and interface roughness on failure modes and energy dissipation. • Validated simulation results against experimental benchmarks and supported design recommendations for seismic resilience in precast systems. Gained hands-on exposure to structural dynamics, numerical modeling, and international collaborative research in seismic engineering.
