In my journey so far, I have handled responsibilities in the areas of Change Management, Business Partner, and Talent Acquisition & Management. The needs of the business and the rapid changes in the industry constantly challenged my ways of working and necessitated my role to be transformed into that of a strategic business partner. In brief, my responsibilities can be summed up as follows. • Development and implementation of organization-wide initiatives to support overall strategic business plan and objectives • Ideation, Design and in some cases roll out HR services impacting areas such as, strategic resource planning and allocation; hiring; reward, recognition and strategic pay; performance development and appraisal systems; employee engagement; and processes and systems • Leading overall talent hiring and management strategies, employee development opportunities, employee assistance programs, organization development interventions, and organisational communication programs for the product engineering function
My role spanned across multiple levels of operational, tactical and strategic functional areas in the domains of talent acquisition; employee relations consultation; policy interpretation and application; performance management consultation; and talent management consultation – with the objective of helping the business in achieving the desired level of human capital performance, while creating a better workplace for the employees. Specifically, on one end, my role encompassed spear-heading performance management and talent development at the organisation-level, and on another, carrying out responsibilities as a HR business partner liaising with business leaders to deliver customised and forward-looking solutions; programs and policies to include organizational design and employee management and development initiatives for technology functions.
My role as a consultant had the overall objective of helping the company plan, develop and, sometimes, execute projects with the desired outcome of becoming more profitable or competitive. I worked closely with the leadership to assess the company, identify problems, gather information, and develop organization-wide initiatives in resource planning & allocation, reward, performance development, appraisal systems, employee engagement, etc.
During my tenure in this role, I have handled clientele that included SMEs and transnational organizations across industries such as, Government SPV, Automotive OEM, Ancillaries, FMCG, Media, IT/ITES and manufacturing. My experience of working on the projects for these clients is as stated below: • Managed the entire gamut of HR Functions on a long term basis for two clients simultaneously • Structured and implemented interventions and processes in areas such as, staffing, PMS, Employee engagement, Compensation & Benefits, Training & Development • In many cases, introduced new initiatives in organisations, such as performance management system and creating a flexible and well-received tool that was later adopted company-wide • Conducted organizational diagnostic study to advice on the HR future roadmap • Designed and implemented employee policy handbook with the knowledge of the statutory compliance requirements • Rolled out and analysed employee engagement surveys for small and large-sized clients, with upto 12,000 employees, and prepared recommendations for targeted engagement initiatives • Conducted job evaluation studies and revised job descriptions across all levels in various companies – manufacturing, Public-private partnerships and consulting. “Shadowed” and interviewed employees to construct an accurate picture of the duties and skills required for each position
