As a Health and Safety Professional, my main duty is to carry out a vast range of functions in a bid to ensure the Safety of both employers and employees. Main duties at Polyoak Packaging: Coordination of contractor Safety Files, ensuring contractor Letter of Good Standing is up to date. Directing accident investigation procedures. Provide recommendations for improving Safety in the workplace. Receive relevant department H&S inspections and update schedules. Data capturing and numbering system of Job Cards, including circulation of Job Card Tracker. Assist in the preparation of Health and Safety Meetings and record all H&S Meeting Attendance. Coordinate and plan annual Clean-up Day event. Personal Protective Clothing and Shoes - Procurement and distribution of work wear, coordination of name badge labelling to uniform. Regular stock takes and ensuring there is sufficient buffer stock of Uniform, PPE and shoes. Liaise with Laundry service provider on concerns and requirements. Ensure laundry schedule is followed and manage weekly collections. Issuing of clean garments to employees. Replenish stock in First Aid boxes. Liaising with Service Providers and Suppliers on relevant concerns on a day to day basis. Ensuring all employees are dressed well and adhere to the Protective clothing specification. Keep up to date on employee department transfers and re-label uniform division badges. Liaise with HR on latest new recruits for uniform requirement and sizing. Attend to employee complaints regarding lost or defective uniform and boots. Assist employees with special requirements and staff purchases, processing of orders. Ensure visitor dust coats are in good condition and laundered as required.
My duties at Prograin included implementing and maintaining the ISO 22 000 Food Safety System as well as Health Safety as a whole. Employed as the Food Safety Administrator and explored Safety in a food environment. Introduced and implemented a Health & Safety filing system from start. Coordination of annual employee Medicals. Arranging employee external Safety training. Applications to Environmental Health Department for Schedule Trade Permit.
