About

My work involves both operational ocean services and research, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely, and impactful information to safeguard lives and livelihoods in coastal regions. 🔹 Key Areas of Work 🌐 Tsunami & Disaster Monitoring I actively monitor global seismic activity, assess potential tsunami threats, and support the issuance of bulletins and situation reports. I also contribute to regional coordination under IOTWMS. 🌀 Cyclone & Marine Weather Forecasts I help prepare INCOIS–IMD joint cyclone bulletins, analyze high-wave and swell conditions, and support coordination with RSMC and Pacific Island nations during cyclonic events. 🌊 Operational Ocean Services I’m involved in daily dissemination and operational support for services like Ocean State Forecasts, PFZ, SVAS, SARAT, ABIS, Coral Bleaching, Marine Heatwaves, and Oil Spill Advisories, ensuring reliable and user-focused delivery. 📊 Ocean Model Validation & Research I work on validating TCHP from ROMS, HYCOM, and GODAS against OMNI and Argo data, analyzing swell surge events, and validating wave model outputs (NWW3EDA). 🧠 Tools & Technical Skills I use tools such as Python, Ferret, CDO, NetCDF, MATLAB, and QGIS for data processing, visualization, and model validation. I also develop frameworks and 3D spatial visualization methods to enhance ocean forecasting. 🤝 Outreach & Capacity Building I’ve been part of several field visits, awareness sessions, and tsunami drills, engaging coastal communities and developing educational materials to enhance preparedness and awareness. 🌟 My Focus I’m passionate about combining scientific data, modeling, and community engagement to strengthen ocean services and disaster resilience. I believe in using technology and teamwork to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact.
