At BIS Services, our team's commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with traumatic brain injuries is central to my role as a Cognitive Rehabilitation Assistant. I apply cutting-edge insights into cognitive therapy, supporting clients through bespoke rehabilitation plans and risk assessments while working with multidisciplinary teams to support our clients in everyday life. My research at King's College into genetic regulation of hemilineage-specific apoptosis in Drosophila melanogaster larvae has made me adept in bulk RNA sequencing along with conducting micro dissections and immunoassays.
-Work with a multidisciplinary team (therapists, case managers, solicitors) to support cognitive rehabilitation for TBI clients. -Produce timely session reports, highlighting any cognitive deficits and concerns noted in the session. -Create and update clients' rehabilitation plans and risk assessments. -Remain updated on new QCS policies.
-Investigated potential genetic regulators of the apoptotic genes involved in hemilineage cell death in Drosophila melanogaster larvae. (10,000 word dissertation - 82%, poster presentation - 82%)
-Managed, cleaned and analysed questionnaire data from over 150 participants using Excel and SPSS. -Developed promotional materials and recruited participants for an online memory test. -Presented bachelor’s dissertation findings to postdoctoral and PhD researchers. -Provided feedback on the research projects of students in the lab to support the development of their projects.
