I'm a systems engineer with a background in development and a current focus on identity, security, and resilient core infrastructure. At Tri-County Technical College (TCTC), I lead and support critical platforms including identity and authentication, Microsoft 365, endpoint security, virtualization, and data center infrastructure. I have hands-on experience with Exchange Online (including hybrid and on-premises Exchange Server), Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Office 365, VMware, Cisco data center technologies (UCS computing, Nexus switching), Active Directory, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. I regularly own and lead projects from design through implementation. - Lead enterprise identity and authentication services, owning the ADFS single sign-on infrastructure and spearheading the migration to Microsoft Entra ID, modernizing authentication and reducing legacy dependency. - Architect and manage TCTC's email platform, transitioning from Exchange Hybrid to Exchange Online and implementing Microsoft Defender for Office 365 for advanced anti-spam, anti-phishing, anti-malware and threat protection. - Drive endpoint security modernization by leading the enterprise-wide deployment of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, improving device visibility, threat detection, and incident response across all endpoints. - Design, operate, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere/ESXi clusters running on Cisco UCS hardware, including management of Cisco Fabric Interconnects and Nexus-based data center networking. - Administer core infrastructure services, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, ensuring high availability, security, and operational reliability. - Manage identity lifecycle automation, integrating Ellucian Banner with Active Directory for user provisioning and deprovisioning. - Support and deploy Ellucian Banner environments, ensuring stable, secure, and reliable system operations. - Serve as a senior technical resource, leading infrastructure projects end-to-end from design to implementation and ongoing optimization.
- Managed the Microsoft 365 environment at TCTC, supporting the stability and security of business-critical services. - Led the migration from on-premises Exchange to Exchange Online, migrating 15,000+ mailboxes with minimal user impact. - Implemented a Microsoft 365 backup solution to protect critical cloud workloads and improve recovery capabilities. - Planned and executed a data center hardware refresh, deploying new Cisco UCS servers, Fabric Interconnects, and Nexus switches, including hardware selection, component sourcing, racking, and initial configuration.
- Automated internal processes using PL/SQL to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload. - Built custom Ellucian Page Builder applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Oracle SQL. - Designed database schemas to support custom application requirements and performance needs.
