Since I can remember, I have always shown an interest in the energy and sustainability sector. Coupled with this with my aptitudes for mathematics and chemistry, I decided to start my university studies in Chemical Engineering in Granada. After finishing my degree and with the intention of complementing my undergraduate studies, I moved to Madrid to do my master's degree at the Complutense University of Madrid. Finally, my passion and desire to dedicate myself to renewable energies led me to choose the Master in Renewable Energies and Energy Market of the EOI. My brief experience has made me realize the strong correlation between believing in what you do, enjoying your work, and performing at the highest level. After this master's degree, I managed to achieve one of my goals, to launch myself into the world of green hydrogen. I enjoy working in versatile and demanding environments where I can develop professional and side to side with soft skills. One factor that shows my desire to learn about various fields is my self-taught training in tools not directly related to my field, such as Python, a tool that I have used for data collection and data analysis, as I trained in numpy, simpy, and pandas modules. One fundamental aspect of my persona is that I need to put into practice the knowledge that I acquire and always go one step further. This has led me to replicate mathematical models of green hydrogen production by electrolysis from renewable productions on the LK language (from zero knowledge) of System Advisor Model (SAM) and later, translate them to Matlab to understand in detail how every input affects to thermodynamics. Proactivity and the desire to experiment are two fundamental pillars that describe me. I want to contribute to a more conscious and sustainable world and I want to be an active vector of change. For the decarbonization of the economy and in the words of Jeremy Rifkin "democratizing energy."
In my role as a Hydrogen Production Technology Specialist, I focus on the coordination and development of proprietary technology electrolyzers, particularly in the initial stages of project development. My expertise is crucial in driving projects from the concept phase to the front-end engineering design (FEED) stage. Engaging as a specialized expert in hydrogen production during the FEED stage of projects, providing technical insights and strategic guidance to optimize design and implementation processes.
As a Hydrogen Project Engineer, I specialize in overseeing the review process of engineering documentation across conceptual, basic, and detailed stages for hydrogen production projects. My expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of national initiatives. My key responsabilities where related with ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all engineering documentation stages, from conceptual to detailed design and actively participating in the development and progression of national hydrogen networks, ensuring project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
As ARIEMA is the technical secretariat of AeH2, I have supported AeH2 at numerous fairs, such as GENERA or the European Hydrogen Energy Conference, where I attended as a technical expert on green hydrogen technologies. At these events, my purpose was to solve technical questions related to the green hydrogen economy. In addition, I support AeH2 members in general questions. Also, I am a lecturer in the ARIEMA hydrogen course, which is supported by AeH2.
At Ariema Energía y Medioambiente S.L. I am part of a young and dynamic team that has allowed me to develop my knowledge in versatile and diverse tasks. The limited size of the group has given me the opportunity to collaborate on multiple functions and projects. Some of the most remarkable functions:: - I have been in charge of numerous techno-economic and regulatory studies to support and drive investment decisions on green hydrogen projects. - Currently, I lead the ARIEMA's technical collaboration on the European-funded project ECO2Fuel, which is developing and scaling-up an innovative electrolytic technology to produce carbon-neutral fuels through CO2 and water. - I am leading the process engineering-related tasks in order to impulse the development of a MW scale electrolyser based on the previous technology from ARIEMA. Some tasks are related to elaboration of P&IDs, layout optimization, dimensioning of PED vessels and piping, HAZOP analysis or FEM analysis, among others.
