The mission of the Warwick Institute of Engagement (WIE) is both to improve how the University of Warwick involve the public, key influencers and decision makers in our pursuit of knowledge and understanding and to improve the way the University communicates its story and value to these groups.
Responsible for operations in Finance, HR, Administration, Trustee and Board Support, Training and Development, Nursery, Volunteering, Activities, Sport and Advocacy. Accountable for: £4m in revenue; £3m expenditure, including £1.4m in staff pay. Development and implementation of strategic plans to secure growth, build performance and enhance reputation. Staff and volunteer training, trustee induction.
Reporting to the Board, as the senior staff member, for an £8m turnover operation, employing over 400 permanent and casual staff. Responsible for the organisation’s performance against its strategic goals, its compliance with internal controls and with statuary obligations, financial sustainability and performance of the staff team.
Responsible for 7 operational departments employing 70 permanent and 50 casual staff at season peaks. Accountable to the General Manager and Board for operations and performance of Marketing, Retail, Facilities, Nursery, IT, Administration and volunteering. The post also included restructuring and developing organisational capacity in various business areas, senior staff lead for integration with Loughborough FE College and external stakeholder representative on various local groups.
