My ECLP assignment on CASA loyalty strategy for Krungsri Bank, Thailand, was recognised among the top three commercial assignments across GE Capital globally. Promoted in October 2024 to lead an expanded A$300M multi-country business across South Asia, Canada, Latin America and Mauritius — the largest contributor to IDP Education’s global EBIT. The mandate covered international education advisory, enrolment and IELTS assessment businesses across mature and high-growth markets. Responsibility spanned revenue, EBIT, margin, customer experience, market expansion, partnerships, digital transformation and leadership development. Served as a member of IDP Education’s Global Leadership Team from October 2017 to May 2026. During this period, also held formal governance responsibilities across IDP-linked India entities, including Whole-time Director of IDP Education India Pvt. Joined IDP Education’s Global Leadership Team in October 2017 and led the South Asia and Mauritius business across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Mauritius. Built and scaled one of IDP Education’s largest and most profitable regional platforms, combining growth, margin expansion, customer experience, market entry, M&A integration and leadership development. Appointed Whole Time Director of IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd. in 2019, with formal statutory, governance and stakeholder oversight responsibilities. Later held additional governance responsibilities across IDP-linked India entities and employee welfare structures. Outcomes over the 7-year tenure: Delivered 10x EBIT growth and 75% margin expansion. Drove 4x market share growth in India, one of the world’s largest source markets for international education. Entered Nepal through a JV route in a complex regulatory environment. Integrated British Council’s IELTS India business post-acquisition, protecting continuity while driving synergy and margin improvement. Built and retained a 2,000+ multi-country organisation with strong senior leadership depth. Recipient of CEO Award for Outstanding Leadership for two consecutive years. Led IDP’s India business, the company’s largest single-country market, during a high-growth phase in a competitive and fragmented international education market. Grew revenue by 75% and EBIT by 70% over two years. Doubled the distribution footprint within 18 months. Strengthened operating rhythm, sales governance and branch performance across the network. Launched IELTS testing in Nepal, creating the foundation for future regional expansion. Promoted in October 2017 to Regional Director, South Asia & Mauritius, joining IDP Education’s Global Leadership Team.
Led SBI Cards’ largest and most profitable new customer acquisition channel, serving mass affluent and HNI segments. Managed 55+ sales managers and 2,500+ frontline sales staff across 45 offices nationally. Doubled new-card volumes within 13 months after taking over a stagnant channel. Grew premium card penetration by 275%, improving sourcing mix and unit economics. Maintained strong portfolio quality with 96% activation and controlled early delinquency. Expanded distribution footprint by 25%.
Promotes as a member of SBI cards Senior management Team (SMT). Built SBI Cards’ Sales Force Effectiveness function from scratch, creating a commercial excellence and decision-support engine for the business. Owned sales planning and resource allocation strategy for FY12 and FY13. Built sales analytics capability; analytics packs became the standard format for CEO business reviews. Designed and ran the SBI Employee Loyalty Program with 14,000+ registered members, recognised as Best Employee Loyalty Program at the India Loyalty Summit 2013. Launched a web-based Learning Management System for 5,000+ sales staff across 67 locations.
National Head for Co-Branded Credit Cards. Led pan-India sales, strategic partnerships and product management for flagship co-brand relationships with Indian Railways / IRCTC and the TATA Group. Built the pan-India co-brand sales channel from scratch; it became the company’s second-largest sourcing channel within 16 months. Doubled TATA Card spends and grew IRCTC Card spends by 80%+ within a year. Reduced cost of acquisition by 40%+ while doubling sales over the same period.
Selected for GE’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program, a global commercial leadership program run by GE Corporate. Executed three mission-critical assignments across India and Southeast Asia. Designed and launched a CASA loyalty program for Bank of Ayudhya / Krungsri Bank, Thailand, reaching 400,000 customers in the first three months. The assignment was recognised as a Top 3 global commercial excellence project at GE in 2008. Built the foundations of the standalone Life Insurance distribution channel for SBI Cards India, including partnership development and regulatory compliance for the Corporate Agency licence application. Designed and rolled out the sales process for the SBI Branch sourcing program.
Led the Point of Sale Insurance channel, with sales and product management responsibility across Credit Life, Term Life and Health Insurance products. Delivered 100%+ of net income target and generated USD 15M revenue in 2006. Launched Health Insurance, reaching USD 500K monthly revenue within 12 months. Conceptualised and launched an Insurance Upsell process generating USD 350K monthly revenue within 8 months. Received the GE Money Platinum Award, GE Money India’s highest professional recognition.
Managed the Payment Protection Insurance product. Increased insurance penetration among new card customers from 34% to 61%. Generated USD 1M+ net income for the business.
Managed the Delhi territory, then the largest market for the business. Achieved 138% of annual sales target at 90% of the cost-of-acquisition budget. Earned Six Sigma certification for the “Card Sourcing from SBI Branches” project.
Managed packaged tea sales across Delhi through a network of 18 distributors in first post-MBA role.
