With a background in EU R&D-funded projects and policy engagement with the European Commission, I have worked on research strategy development, innovation policy audits, and stakeholder relations with key European institutions. Transitioning to a global scale, I have been deeply involved in science and innovation, promoting the role of science and technology in addressing global challenges. As Project Director of the Science Summit during the United Nations General Assembly, I have led efforts to showcase how science can drive progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals, fostering collaboration between policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders worldwide.
I lead the strategic development and delivery of a global platform that connects science, policy, finance, and society. I work with senior leaders across governments, academia, industry, and international organisations to ensure that scientific evidence, innovation, and systems thinking inform global decision-making—particularly in areas such as sustainable development, global health, AI, and finance for development.
Led the strategic management of major client portfolios, advising organisations on positioning within the EU Research & Innovation ecosystem, from upstream research strategy through to implementation under successive EU Framework Programmes (including Horizon Europe). Directed public affairs and institutional engagement at EU level, maintaining senior-level relationships with the European Commission, European Parliament, Committee of the Regions, and related bodies to support policy influence and funding alignment within the EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Conducted EU Research & Innovation policy audits and authored policy briefs, position papers, and strategic notes to support client engagement with Horizon Europe priorities, mission-oriented research, partnerships, and future MFF programming. Oversaw organisational participation in EU-funded research projects, ensuring strategic coherence with Horizon Europe objectives, effective consortium engagement, and alignment with EU policy, regulatory, and reporting requirements.

In this role, I analysed European research and innovation policies and assessed EU-funded R&D projects across successive Framework Programmes. My work involved the systematic use of CORDIS, the European Union’s database of EU-funded research projects, to evaluate project portfolios, monitor performance, and assess economic, social, technological, and environmental impacts. I contributed to policy analysis, programme evaluation, and reporting by translating project-level data into evidence to support policy design, priority setting, and funding decisions. This included identifying trends in innovation, collaboration patterns, research outputs, and alignment with EU strategic objectives.
