I have over 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the nuclear energy sector. I started my career in the aerospace industry and in aerospace research. My experience is in mechanical equipment testing, qualification, supply and design, and technical coordination. Projects I worked on were mechanical equipment qualification by test for ITER in the South of France, with 6 types of mechanical equipment successfully qualified. More recently I lead a team of 19 young graduate engineers to deliver 75 mechanical ageing analysis documents for the 10 year lifetime extension of the Doel 4 nuclear powerplant. My working experience started at Sonaca in the field of materials and processes. The main activity consisted in defining and evaluating composite material processes and qualification testing. My Master's degrees were obtained in Electro-Mechanical engineering and Aeronautics at the VUB and at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. I am results-oriented and can handle complex and challenging assignments effectively and possess the maturity and responsibility needed to lead a team and work as part of a team or independently. French and Dutch are my native tongues, my English is fluent and I speak fairly good Portuguese.

Engineer of the Equipment& Materials Management section, working as Lead Engineer for the Ageing Management Evaluation of mechanical equipment as part the 10 year lifetime extension of Doel 4. • Train, guide, lead, advise and supervise 19 young graduate engineers • Reviewing/delivering 75 ageing analysis documents of mechanical equipment for each system in scope within 18 months. >1.100 equipment analyzed. Engineer of the Equipment& Materials Management section, working as an expat on mechanical equipment qualification from the test program specification to the publication of the qualification report for the ITER nuclear fusion project in Cadarache. • 6 mechanical equipment qualified through testing with delivered qualification file: AODD pumps, spring safety relief valves, check valves, pressures reducers, needle valves, dry column valves • Defining, rolling out and concluding the qualification testing program in a timespan of 31 months • Working closely with the design and procurement team • Call for tender: manufactures/laboratories, design/testing specifications, drawing analysis • Specimen manufacture quality and FAT follow-up and testing campaign supervision • AODD pump test bench designed through several cycles of testing and performing adjustments • Reference test, radiation test, static magnetic field test, LOCA test, seismic test, fire test • Manage and closing non-conformities with the involvement of the suppliers/client if needed • Standards/guidelines: EN 12266-1, IEEE 344 / 382, ANSI HI 10.6, API 527, EDF qualification guidelines
Mechanical Engineer at the Mechanical Equipment Supply Section of Tractebel. Providing engineering services for the Belgian Power Plants in fluent English, French and Dutch. • Qualification for post-accidental conditions of installed mechanical equipment such as valves, pumps and fans; • Definition of qualification programs and redaction of qualification reports for new equipment; • Definition of general qualification methodologies for mechanical equipment; • Supply of new equipment: redaction of the design specification and the technical specification sheet, call for tenders, analysis of the proposals, and follow up of the production, the factory acceptance tests, the on site tests and installation; • Analysis of modifications to be applied to installed mechanical equipment; • Verification of design specifications, qualification files, modification files and methodology documents; • Execution of tests on valves in the main power plant building; • Follow up of construction sites in the main power plant building.
