As a designer with a background as a musician, I’ve realized that composing for an audience is not so different from designing digital products for people. In both UX and music, it’s paramount that we understand and empathize with our users to create the best possible experiences - whether it’s a trip to the grocery story or a performance in a concert hall. My insatiable curiosity and love of learning led me to UX. I noticed that many of my artist friends maintained successful careers in digital design because of the wide breadth of corresponding skills. Just like them, I had to collaborate with all kinds of people in different fields, create work to fit other’s needs, and continuously ask questions to understand what users are really trying to communicate. These abilities allowed me to succeed in my most recent UX role, delivering a product redesign that met stakeholder needs and exceeded client expectations. I’m always drawing connections to make sense of the world around me. All of my design decisions are made with intent, just as every note played has a purpose. I relish the minute details that others may never notice and strive to make beautiful products people love engaging with. You’ll often find me applying these same principles in my life outside of design: honing my cooking craft, breaking down complex narratives, and enjoying meaningful conversations. I’m a dedicated individual who is eager to use my skills and unique background to create exceptional user experiences at a leading tech company.
I led a team of designers in delivering an internal product redesign. I conducted research to understand and define user needs and pain points while drawing upon my knowledge of design principles, patterns, and trends to ideate solutions. My Figma proficiency allowed me to prototype and iterate quickly with my solutions being validated by vigorous user testing.
I produced musical works for film and podcast, cross-collaborating with stakeholders across various entertainment industries and iterating pieces to meet client concerns and budget constraints. I also toured internationally, quickly learning large repertoires of music to perform in diverse groups. Past clients include LeVar Burton, 99% Invisible, Wise Music Group.
I acquired new product and negotiated with electronic musical instrument manufacturers for resell, leading to +42% YOY sales. I also led a 10+ cross-functional team of sales, marketing, and repair technicians in daily operations. I tracked market and social media trends to drive content creation and increase customer engagement by 150%, and the receiving/shipping workflows I developed increased productivity by 50%.
