As a member of the Estimating department, I utilized Trimble Autobid Sheet Metal for the onscreen takeoff of construction drawings that were used to generate material cost. These takeoffs incorporated all construction specifications as well as specific customer requests. Along with being heavily involved in job estimates, I also created production schedules for projects under contract. These detailed spool sheets were then used by the Inside Sales staff to input for production. While doing this, I was tasked with auditing the work of other estimators in order to ensure quality control of estimates and generate process improvements. I was able, through studying Vortex's process, to better align the onscreen takeoff process with SMACNA standards.
