Als Assistenzarzt an der Klinik für Orthopädie und Traumatologie kümmere ich mich um Patient:innen vor, während und nach elektiven Operationen sowie nach Unfällen. Während des ersten Jahres meiner Facharztausbildung verbringe ich etwa 6 Monate in der Notaufnahme des Zuger Kantonsspitals. Die restliche Zeit werde ich als Stationsarzt unsere stationären Patient:innen betreuen und als OP-Assistent das Handwerk der Orthopädischen Chirurgie erlernen. Darüber hinaus bin ich auch an der Ausbildung unserer Medizinstudent:innen beteiligt, mit dem Ziel, Ihnen ein fundiertes Wissen der klinisch-orthopädischen Untersuchungstechnik zu vermitteln As a resident at the Clinic for Orthopaedics and Traumatology, I take care of patients before, during and after elective surgery as well as after accidents. During the first year of my specialist training, I spend about 6 months in the emergency department at the Zug Cantonal Hospital. The rest of the time I will be looking after our inpatients as a ward doctor and learning the art of orthopaedic surgery as a surgical assistant in the OR. Furthermore, I am also involved in the training of our medical students with a focus on providing them with a profound knowledge of orthopaedic clinical examination techniques.
As a surgical first assistant, I am laying the foundation for my future career in spine surgery.
