I work at the intersection of geopolitics, technology and capital. We are living through an industrial revolution. As the steam engine once domesticated mechanical power, artificial intelligence is radically augmenting cognitive power — with productivity implications of historic proportions. This revolution is unfolding simultaneously with the energy transition, China's rise as a systemic challenger, America's drive to preserve technological supremacy, and the structural instability of the Middle East. The map of global wealth and power is being redrawn. The question is whether Europe will be a architect of the new order — or a bystander. That question is what I work on every day. Since 2020, I have led the Initiative Tibi — a programme mobilising institutional capital into European technology. By end-2026, 37 leading LPs will have committed €15bn across 160 funds spanning venture capital and public equity. We are now launching Phase 3 and championing a Venture Capital Union: a federation of national ecosystems built to reach the scale needed to compete with the US and China. Europe has the savings. What it lacks is the will to deploy them productively. The Initiative Tibi is one concrete answer to that failure. I also work with CEOs, board members and policymakers — helping them read the strategic landscape, pressure-test their assumptions, and make better decisions under radical uncertainty. The convergence of technological disruption, energy transition and geopolitical fracture is not a background condition. It is the central strategic challenge of our time, and most organisations are not yet thinking about it at the right level of seriousness. This work draws on 26 years at UBS — across S.G. Warburg, SBC and UBS — in technology and equity markets, culminating as CEO and Country Head of UBS France. Technology gave me the understanding of its ability to change the world, Banking the capital markets lens. The years since have been spent building the geopolitical and economic framework around it. I teach Strategy and Finance at École Polytechnique, and Geopolitics and Business in the MBA programme of AUEB Athens. I have held visiting professorships at Sciences Po Paris, LUISS Rome, UIBE Beijing and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
