• The job consists to ensure that Metallic Materials for our vehicles meet customer satisfaction and reach optimal Properties / Cost / Regulations • Perimeter of metallic department is huge : BIW parts, PWT or ePWT, chassis …We define Metallic Materials Strategy, Prescribe Materials from cast aluminum to electronic parts, coating for corrosion or frictionless effect, material characterization & simulation…I also keep assembly field for metallic material • We also take in account serial life expertise from commercial network or plants and capitalize our knowledge into internal norms
• Management of 2 technical fields for Renault group’s WW: mechanical assembly & structural bonding • Taking in account of glue use into all firm departments (design, simulation, BIW process, trim & chassis process, plants, vh projects…) New glues homologation, new dispensing process & monitoring plan apply on Clio & Captur successfully • Managing new assembly technics for lightweight multi material structure (flow drill screw, roller hemming, SPR…) • Increase network with IRT, suppliers, university, Nissan or even competitors
Engineering process BIW department - Manage a team of 15 technicians and engineers Prove process feasibilities for current and innovative joining technologies. Provide to body shop tested and reliable joining technics (devices and parameters) included how to control them (i.e. laser scan…). Highlight the challenge for business plan. Examples of joining technics (for metallic parts, for all Renault’s range and BIW factories), I ve contributed to develop (from upstream to the plant!) : Laser or plasma brazing and welding, arc welding, roller hemming, hemming nuts and welding studs, clinch, self-piercing rivet, … Manage all these equipments for worldwide vehicle projects, including define setting parameters and start the production To complete bellow joining technics, I contribute to develop assembly on composites parts: Laser welding on plastics, nuts and studs on CFRP, SPR through GFRP, and continue to have a look on innovative joining as high speed joining… Propose and industrialize lightweight program for BIW, manager for French multi material joining project FASTLITE, manage PhD student in multi material joining …
Manager of BIW prototype team. I was in charge of the parts delivery to build news cars, included exhaust lines and products for painting shop. It could be a single prototype, as big waves of 100 vehicules. I also developed new international places to make them, nearest customer plants (decreased a lot the cost of the prototype), i.e . in Roumania (including devices and training). Identify all suppliers, create international logistic flows, made suitable packaging, manage customs taxes…and launch prototype stamping parts when first serial part are not deliver in time !
Examples of jobs, I lead: -Manage stamping parts for new vh (about 40 tools) from design to SOP+6months (included new tools specifications, adapt design for faisability or more reliability, investments and cost parts, feasability simulation…) -Learn stamping simulation software and use it to predict feasability for stamping department or to improve current stamping process - In charge of stamping press capacity, looking for new business and manage « make or buy » topics for executive plant board Industrialize 4 « make » files from design to SOP -Specialist for welding technics for the plant. Start an innovative gaz installation
