About

Phil is architect (1996) and recognized spatial planner (2002) with an additional degree in spatial project management (2005). He works for Sweco Belgium (former Grontmij Belgium) since 2012 as senior expert and design coach. His fields of expertise concern both design and planning of infrastructure, open spaces and urban projects. He emphasizes on the realization of a feasible spatial quality with added value for all parties. Using design based research in the context of interdisciplinary projects. Above all, Phil acts as designer using his graphic and drawing skills to facilitate this approach towards spatial issues, challenges and processes. Design based research and a graphic approach play important roles as connector and translator between people, places and programs in order to establish a more sustainable outcome and added value for both people, planet and profit. The last 23 years he has been able to apply this approach in complex interdisciplinary projects. His long involvement in large projects guarantees that he thrives in processes involving a large number of actors. His previous working experiences involve the following engineering or architecture firms: Jan Maenhout, Groep Delta/Holistic, Crepain, TV-SAM, Arcadis and Vectris.
