My current goal is to help organizations to adopt DevSecOps practices. One of them being how to deploy continuous integration, delivery and deployment pipelines at scale. Embracing DevOps practices in software development lifecycle and operations is an iterative and evolutionary process. The benefits of the 3 ways DevOps can only be realized in the long term with KPI, by allocating some bandwidth to improve the daily work and then reinvest the savings in quality and execution performance. This is generally only successful when the senior management impulses the DevOps transformation. Since a DevOps transformation is rarely the tangible deliverable of a contract, I think that the two types of work environment best matching my current profile are: - consulting or coaching in an IT service company to help people transform their practices and adopt new tools. However, these are usually short term assignments and it is frustrating to not see the benefits nor address the technical challenges myself. - taking a DevOps transformation responsibility in a long term position as direct employee of the final company in its engineering or IT department.
