Previously, I was pivotal at SaaS scale-up FactoryPal, where I led technical onboarding and operations of customers' manufacturing lines for both data acquisition and data analytics. At Bosch, I spearheaded the software development of a multi-million Euro lighthouse project aimed at achieving CO2 neutrality at the Bosch Eisenach plant. As the former CTO of Hyko, a Dutch startup, I successfully transitioned a connected consumer product from an early prototype to full market launch, establishing key partnerships with leading European energy firms. This role followed my initial venture into entrepreneurship, which, despite its challenges, provided a foundational understanding of business dynamics. At startup FactoryPal I grew and led two diverse teams of Automation Engineers, Business Data Analysts, and Integration Engineers. FactoryPal is a deep-tech SaaS startup bringing AI-based IIoT solutions to our customers in Europe, UK, and North America. One key topic I was driving was the technical onboarding of our customers and their manufacturing lines. Before leaving FactoryPal, I took the responsibility of beeing the interim Product Owner for the configuration and ingestion domain. Additional topics I was actively driving: setting the strategy for data acquisition, stakeholder management with a focus on OEMs and 3rd party software vendors, improving our project playbooks, hiring, implementing OKRs within Operations, growing self-managed teams, supporting the development of individual team members, supporting my team in implementing standards, coaching, ...
At Bosch.IO I led IoT projects in the energy domain with multimillion Euro project budgets. In my main project I developed an industrial energy management solution at the intersection of IoT, AI, and manufacturing together with a diverse team including experts in energy markets, UX, data-science, manufacturing, software development, and sales. Furthermore, I lead the SINTEG WindNODE project with a focus on smart energy systems and the i-rezept project together with Nissan focusing on bi-directional charging of electric vehicles. I initiated startup collaborations and was co-founder of the Bosch.IO sustainability group.
At Bosch Software Innovations GmbH I lea novel IoT projects in the energy domain with multimillion Euro project budgets. I took an essential role in the acquisition and development of a large industrial energy management software project. Furthermore, leading the SINTEG WindNODE project with a focus on smart metering and low voltage grids. Established start-up collaborations, leading to a joint product offering. Winner of an internal pitch competition in 2018 and a hackathon in 2019. Implemented an IT-based sustainability measure in the Bosch group. Bosch Software Innovations GmbH became Bosch.IO GmbH in January 2020.
Support and advisory in designing and developing the hardware of next generation Hyko smart sleep trainer and kids companion providing connectivity with WiFi and BLE, interaction with NFC and feedback with audio and light. With the aquisition of Hyko I stopped my engagement.
At CareToSave my main job was taking care of hardware development and manufacturing of Hyko connected Bluetooth lamp in Asia and Europe. This includes design for manufacturing of electronics and plastics, supply chain management, and project management of all steps necessary to bring a product in the hand of our customers. Legal work with manufacturing partners, leading the development team, firmware development in C for the Nordic nRF52 System-on-Chip , QA measures for both software and hardware, or managing CE certification are some of the activities I was responsible for. Furthermore, I was involved in building up and managing the development team and actively participated in sales and business development activities, with a focus on German speaking markets. Together with our CEO I successfully raised seed funding from a German Fortune 500 company. Hyko got acquired in 01/20.
