Director for WIK, a German-owned mechatronic design and manufacturing solution provider, I head its largest manufacturing site in the Far East, with 4 profit centres and a design office, with approximately $220m USD in sales and 3% profit. Authorized P&L, design & development, NPI, engineering, QA, supply chains, finance, and sustainability. Key achievements • Designed strategy and led operational deployment of WIK-Digital4.0, eliminating manual reporting on the shop floor and providing real time quality information to clients • Championed a company-wide Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, reducing overall staff turnover from 19.8% to less than 5% • Slashed inventories by 45% by insisting on rigorous controls, sound supply chain management principles and collaborative demand planning with key customers
Directed the Asian operations of a world-class Swiss company manufacturing engineered materials and applications systems for bonding, coating sealing and damping; worth 135m CHF in sales and 28m CHF profit after tax. These operations employed 550 personnel across 7 production units and a design office: I headed key business operations, supply chain, quality assurance, business development, sales, finance, engineering, and new product launches. Key achievements • Exceeded market growth with double digit sales for four years • Negotiated High & New Tech Enterprise status for EMS-EFTEC in Shanghai, slashing corporate income tax from 25% down to 15% • Commissioned EMS-EFTEC’s largest manufacturing facility, a 25m CHF investment; meeting deadlines, budget constraints and quality targets
