  • Founder/Chief Encouragement Officer at The Burning Limb Foundation
    Dec 2016 - Present · 9 yrs 7 mos

https://burninglimb.com The Burning Limb Foundation was born out of my personal struggles with chronic illness. I founded this organization because there were no innovative solutions in the rare disease space. TBLF was designed to be action oriented, not “awareness” focused – when our donor dollars are deployed, they have significant ROI. Our mission is to help individuals find treatment for chronic, rare, and debilitating illnesses such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. We provide scholarships and grant funding, especially for those unable to afford outside-the-box treatments. We believe everyone, regardless of ability to pay, should have the same opportunity to access healthcare. What differentiates The Burning Limb Foundation? • Impactful: CRPS is known in the rare disease community as the suicide disease. Every sufferer we help afford treatment dramatically reduces the risk of suicide. The impact we make reaches beyond just helping the individual, we impact legacies which is exponential. • Achievable: We know from personal experience that positive outcomes are achievable, we help provide a solution to the financial puzzle. We are empowerers and encouragers. Our success metric is to see a patients’ pain level reduced by 50% at a minimum, with the goal of seeing them pain free and in remission. • Tangible: Pain is binary, it’s simple to measure and progress is easy to document. The normal 1-10 pain scale provides a tangible measuring tool for how well a patient partner has recovered. Donors who choose to sponsor a specific individual have an opportunity to follow their progress. Fundraising: • Over $4,000,000 raised since inception in 2017 • Over $3,750,000 in grants/scholarships made, • 500 families impacted - 45 additional commitments funded through Q1 2024 • 5% overhead expense
