Manager of new product introductions, leading a team of 8 with the primary objective to assess, plan & deliver new business opportunities for all European Commercial Vehicle customers. This involved analysis of business resources, financial planning, development, design, purchasing, planning and various engineering functions. • Managed business launch budgets, with new projects that generated a revenue of approx £ 20M. • Responsible for the recruitment of numerous high calibre key team members to replace low achieving personnel. • Site champion in Honeywell’s new product introduction (NPI) project management tool. • Played a key role in the transfer of the manufacturing site from Skelmersdale (UK) to Bucharest (Romania). • All projects managed were multi-site, where design & manufacturing were based in Shanghai, Romania & Italy. • Led other Honeywell European teams in cost down activities using low cost suppliers from Eastern Europe & Asia.
Responsible for the successful implementation of new business and improving the efficiency of the division. Volex is an international wiring & interconnect group with a turnover of £22M and facilities throughout the world. The automotive division has a turnover of £27M. Led a cross functional team of 32 including manufacturing, quality, C.A.D. engineers, costing, quality, test block manufacture, electricians, assembly & test board department. Key projects included: - • Business re-organisation and change management – redesigned the company’s processes for introducing new business. This included managing a multi-skilled team, changing the interdepartmental culture. • New product introduction (NPI), project planning and implementation – successfully introduced a near 100% increase in new product introduction within a two-year period, without any increase in staff overheads. • Budgets and capital several £700K • IT development projects – reduce non-value added manual processes to reduce overhead spend.
