Academy Award and Emmy award-winning computer vision scientist and technology creator. I created the planar tracker now used worldwide in TV and movie post-production as part of the BorisFX Mocha Pro software. My style is to combine computer vision algorithms in an engineering context, with the idea to create solutions which have wide application.
Helping Grip build innovative computer vision and AI workflows
At Mirriad I was the main imaging technology developer since the inception of the company. I was the team leader of the Core Technology team, consisting of myself and five developers creating video and image applications. The overall goals of my team are: • Address problems of automation and scale in video analysis using machine learning techniques, characterizing suitable locations in for in-content advertising. • Create new imaging and workflow technologies that solve the problems of embedding realistic looking elements into video and film. • Create efficient workflows to receive and deliver video content. My main achievements at Mirriad have been: • Co-creator (with Dr Alex Blinov) of Niva, the video effects software used by the Mirriad production team to deliver in-content advertising • Novel 2D and 3D motion analysis algorithms • A high-performance implementation of planar tracking • Implementation of several automated and patented workflow processes • A live embedding solution for real-time in-content advertising in sports content • Inventor and manager for the Mirriad patent portfolio
