I researched plant molecular biology as an undergrad and earned a full fellowship to grad school to engineer synthetic biology, drawn in as CRISPR-Cas9 emerged as a way to precisely program biological systems. An internship on commercializing university technology into startups later pulled me from academic research into venture capital, right as the first LLMs were being released, and I backed founders building in quantum computing, defense, energy storage, and deep tech. I've been fortunate to work in two industries reshaped by technologies with profound implications for society. Today I'm building Ursa Science and developing biosecurity and biodefense policy fluency through BlueDot Impact's cohort, connecting threat-landscape thinking to the realities of bioscience deployed in austere and contested environments. My goal is to enable AI-driven biomanufacturing in the physical world, producing critical materials on demand wherever they're needed, from contested environments on Earth to off-world outposts cut off from any supply chain.
