Product Designer, U.C Berkeley and ARPA-E AI Researcher, AI Product Designer, Award-Winning AI Innovator, UX Researcher, UI Designer, Accessibility Designer, and Technical Lead with 15+ years of experience developing enterprise products from the ground up. My main interests are new product development, human computer interaction, and product design. I'm extremely fascinated by how humans interact with technology and one another, and strive to craft highly intuitive user experiences backed by stringent customer validation. As Technical Director for Chao Foundation and Founding Technology Director for Beijing University’s Philanthropy Lab, I managed and grew our core team of 6 to over 18. I designed, led UX Research, and successfully launched 3 enterprise management platforms used by thousands of organizations worldwide for poverty alleviation. I am also on the board of health-care organizations in Silicon Valley, and have lived in the poorest regions of China, which has taught me to better understand cultural context, pain points, and user expectations. This experience reaffirmed my belief that great things can be achieved through observation, human interaction, and ultimately-- empathy. As Lead Visual Designer at Power Standards Lab (PSL) during a high growth period, I experienced every aspect of software and hardware development, including requirement specification, managing complex information systems, running user experience tests, performance benchmarks, and daily maintenance. On the UI/UX side, I'm adept at prototyping, wire-framing, and delivering unique front-end experiences. I was lead visual designer for PSL’s flagship power quality monitor, which is funded and deployed by the United States Department of Defense (ARPA-E) for ensuring cyber-grid stability.
