Distributed leadership and autonomous decision-making is the organizing model that is most effective in unleashing individual creativity and enterprise-wide alignment. I work with purpose-motivated transformational leaders who are committed to creating value for every stakeholder of their enterprise while living the core values that make individuals great, their mission and purpose enduring, admired and respected, and an example of what's possible when committed individuals are driven by a shared noble purpose. We are living in a technology-driven world that lends itself to new organizing models and new ways to enable individuals make their largest possible contribution to the cause that moves them. Gandhi said it best, "The difference between what we do, and what we are capable of doing, would suffice to solve most of the world's problems". Unleashing and harnessing passion, commitment and ideas is critical to realizing every enterprise's purpose and mission. Intention, ideas, and action have sparked the greatest moments in our history. With a wide range of hands–on operational and leadership experience, in a diverse range of enterprises, I've discovered what it takes to unleash passion, commitment, cooperation and focused execution in the service of a compelling purpose. My colleagues and I share the view that there appears to be no limit to the capacity of individuals and groups to cooperate, innovate and discover new ways to build a great enterprise, solve problems, and pursue their purpose and values. It is this capacity we draw on in our work helping transformational leaders continually reinvent themselves and their enterprise, to the point it becomes a core competency and mission realizing advantage. I am drawn to people living a purpose with courage, passion, commitment and accomplishment. I resonate with Margaret Mead when she encourages us to never doubt the power of a small handful of committed people to change the world…, because, as she said, nothing else ever has.
