InfoSec is a computer security training company that was purchased by Cengage, formerly Thompson Academic Publishing, in 2022. Hired as a hybrid full-stack developer of web applications using ReactJs and CakePHP, then released in a major cost-cutting move a year later. * Led a project that added email integration with applications from outside providers. This project, successfully completed in the face of staffing challenges, removed a significant reason why many potential customers rejected Infosec services in favor of those provided by its competitors. * Developed a change request checklist and trained my colleagues on it to improve the quality of software change requests, reduce the costs of the review cycle, and reduce the risk of introducing bugs into the active product. * Contributed the selected idea for a company growth project with the potential for major revenue growth with little required development cost.
Televere is a diagnostic X-ray imaging solution provider. It provides image-capturing systems that include digital image capture panels, desktop computers, and the software to capture, enhance, view, annotate, and save X-ray images. It also provides technical support and cloud backup services for its clients. Hired, after five months in technical support, to augment the software development team. Given a series of projects of increasing responsibility, complexity, and value to Televere. I worked, initially on site but ultimately remotely, in .Net with multiple database engines. I left Televere when it decided to outsource its software development for cost reasons. Accomplishments: * Updated and maintained application used to track employee work and vacation hours. * Updated and maintained application used to track millions of dollars worth of equipment from receipt through sale, repair, and other events. * Enhanced application license software to automate activation and registration, greatly decreasing manual effort and also stopping loss of revenue from license fraud. * Extended integration with Electronic Medical Record systems to include processing of HL7 imaging orders, making it much easier for our medical customers to integrate into their workflows. * Improved the program so that it can function without a local database connection.
