Team leader in the production control responsible for providing resource planning, capacity planning, integrated business planning (IBP) and sales and operation planning (S&OP) support for the Typhoon and F35 manufacturing businesses; reporting to the production control manager; leading a team of 3 direct reports. The role involved: using the Master Production Schedule and standard time values (STV’s) to compile detailed capacity plans for labour and facilities. Managed resource movements between 15 departments (1500 people), to maintain required capacity levels. Analysed departmental performance to plan (schedule, cost and quality), held regular reviews with operations managers to obtain buy into action plans in order to maintain adherence to schedule. Compiled and maintained risk registers and mitigation plans escalating as necessary through the S&OP meeting hierarchy. Successfully developed the S&OP process and had regular pre meetings with key stakeholders (logistics, procurement commercial, finance and department heads) to promote and formulate agenda items. Responsible for compiling a 12 month, 5 year and 10 year IBP forecast of capacity requirements, along with maintaining configuration control of the planning assumptions (schedule, BOM, performance and risks). Obtaining the department heads agreement to their labour and facility requirements / budgets. Improvements were made to the IBP processes as the organisation doubled in size enabling it to be managed with the same number of people.
